Recently a video of a Doberman dog went viral on TikTok. Where her eyes got covered by her cat sibling’s tail and she thought she went blind.
Owner Ashley lives in Louisville, Kentucky with her two pets. She has 26,000 followers on TikTok.
One day she posted a video of her pet dog sobbing and winning confusingly when her other pet cat covered her dog’s eyes with her black tail.
While everyone was enjoying watching their videos on Tik Tok, they didn’t know about the fact that it was quite hard to introduce a cat to a dog.
And the reason is- the royal society for Preservation of Cruelty of Animals (RSPCA) approved in one of its online reports that usually cats and dogs were not believed to be friends. But also animal welfare organizations said- it’s possible to make cats and dogs friends of each other or more like tolerate each other if we take them into a family and introduce them to become each other’s family but in a sensible way.
How to introduced dog and cat to each other:-
While introducing them to each other we should consider some situations like the environment should be calm and peaceful according to PSPCA.
Keep the cat and dog separated initially, allowing them to get used to each other’s scent. You can do this by placing a blanket or towel that has the other animal’s scent on it in each of their respective areas.
So while Introducing them to each other you should avoid inviting your friends or families to your house and do not arrange any kind of party where there will be any kind of noise. Try to make the environment as quiet as possible.
Once they are accustomed to each other’s scent, you can start to introduce them in a controlled setting. Keep the dog on a leash and have someone hold the cat. Allow them to see each other from a distance and reward them with treats and praise for good behavior. And while you’re introducing them make sure you’re as patient as them and if they behave well then give them an award (like their favourite food) for their good behaviour and even if they don’t get well together with each other then give them a little time, does are mostly calm in the situations so be patience and make sure to reward them with their favourite meal.
Remember, introducing a cat and dog can take time, and it’s important to go at their pace and not rush the process. With patience and careful management, you can help them form a positive relationship and become lifelong friends.
If either animal shows signs of aggression or fear, separate them immediately and try again later. Don’t force them to interact if they are not ready.

Since Ashley posted the video on TikTok on May 17. That video got 10.4 million views and 1.7 million likes from users. Over 12,000 TikTok users shared their enjoyment of that funny and cute video they just saw.
A few of them made funny comments like – “Who turned off the lights”, and “The new season of Bird Box looks intense”.
A few of them also made a few humourous jokes like – “I’m blind”
And another user said – “Baby is acting like she’s lost in the wood somewhere”.
