2011 – Butler upset top seed Pittsburgh, 71-70, in one of the craziest results in NCAA tournament history. After Butler’s Andrew Smith put Butler ahead with 2.2 seconds left, Shelvin Mack inexplicably meets Pitt’s Gilbert Brown as Brown attempts a desperate half-court lift attempt. Brown takes the first free throw to level the score at 70 but misses the second and Howard grabs the rebound only to be more inexplicably fouled by Nasir Robinson with 0.8 seconds left.
